OTT RLS radar water level gauge is a non-contact water level gauge that uses pulse radar technology to measure water level. This energy-saving, non-contact measurement technology allows OTT RLS to obtain accurate measurement results without being affected by temperature gradients, water pollutants, and sediment during measurement.

OTT RLS uses energy-saving pulse radar technology to measure liquid level. There are two smooth antennas, transmitting and receiving, in the front clamp. During each measurement, the transmitting antenna emits radar pulse signals to the water surface, which are reflected by the water surface and detected by the receiving antenna. The time (delay time) from transmitting to receiving the pulse signal reflected back from the water surface depends on the distance between OTT RLS and the water surface. OTT RLS uses the linear relationship between delay time and distance to the water surface to measure the liquid level (distance value).

The extremely low energy consumption (maximum current of 12mA at 12V measurement state), wide power supply range, and standardized interface of OTT RLS enable it to adapt to various needs. It can be easily connected to data recorders or remote data acquisition systems, and also has a high range of up to 35 meters.

Fluctuation compensation

OTT RLS achieves independent measurements of approximately 16 times per second. After completing one measurement cycle, the average value obtained is calculated and output as the result. By calculating the average value, the impact of water surface fluctuations, wind induced bracket vibrations, or bridge vibrations caused by vehicle travel on the measurement results is minimized. This measurement result can be comparable to the liquid level value measured in a static well.
